Lonan Hughes
Lonan graduated with a BSc (Hons.) degree from the University of Limerick in 2009, and completed a Research Masters, investigating exercise for people with Multiple Sclerosis in 2011. Since then, he has worked in private practice for 8 years and has completed further training in a range of areas including; Pilates, Dry Needling, Rehabilitation of Sports Related Lower Back & Upper Limb problems, and tendon pain, to name but a few.
Lonan has lectured on the Physiotherapy Undergraduate and Masters programmes, and the Undergraduate Sports Science programme in UL. In addition, he spent 3 years working in a health technology start-up.
Lonan strongly believes in the role of exercise as medicine and the importance of lifestyle factors in recovery. His main areas of clinical interest are back and neck related problems, sports injuries, and neurological rehabilitation.
